So the TV writing fellowships are starting to make their picks, and I’ve already got a rejection in the bucket. Which is fine. I’ve decided for every rejection I get, I am going to plan a storyline for either a new spec or an episode of my original series. Something good, something I want to work on…so that when next year’s applications roll around, I’m ready. Or for when I get a meeting with an agent or manager (lord that’ll be the day), I’ll have that much more to show and offer.
I allowed myself one day to wallow on the one fellowship I thought I might have a maybe-sorta shot at, and that’s it. No more. Nobody got anywhere wallowing in self-pity, and this isn’t my first ride on the rejection merry-go-round. Four more to go! I’m either going to be in a program, or have a lot of good ideas to work with. Either will work for me, in the end. Always looking forward!
